Who we work with
Professional independence, client protection, confidentiality, and the economics of a practice shape every recommendation.
Partnerships and professional corporations that need clearer direction, better systems, and a technology agenda that fits the practice.
Licensed structures with nonlawyer ownership or decision-making authority, and the governance and compliance obligations that come with them.
Legal-service businesses, and the investors and strategic partners evaluating them, that need an independent view of governance, operations, and risk.
Context
In Arizona, an ABS is a business entity that includes nonlawyers with an economic interest or decision-making authority in the firm and that provides legal services under the Arizona Supreme Court's rules.
ABS organizations are licensed and regulated by the Arizona Supreme Court under Arizona Code of Judicial Administration § 7-209. Each must designate a Compliance Lawyer and perform a semi-annual internal compliance audit.
Koers is a consulting firm, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice.
